2. Teacher resume summary examples

B.Ed fresher
B.Ed graduate (English) and CTET qualified, with 4 months of practice teaching for Classes 6–8. Prepared lesson plans, ran reading activities and used simple quizzes to check understanding. Looking for a primary or middle-school English teacher role.
3. Teaching experience: bullet point examples
For each school, write the post, school name, city and dates, then 3–5 points. Start each point with an action word and add a number where you can.
• Taught Mathematics to 4 sections of Classes 8–10 (about 160 students) following the CBSE syllabus
• Raised the Class 10 board average from 68% to 81% in two years with weekly tests and remedial classes
• Prepared monthly lesson plans, worksheets and question papers for the department
• Used smart boards and Google Classroom to share notes and track homework
• Held parent–teacher meetings every term and kept attendance and result records
• Led the school maths club and prepared 12 students for the state Olympiad
Freshers: write your B.Ed practice teaching / internship the same way – school, classes, number of lessons and what you did.
4. Education and qualifications
Write the latest first: B.Ed / D.El.Ed, then your graduation (B.Sc, B.A, B.Com…), with college, university, year and percentage. Add teaching exams on their own lines because schools filter for them:
- CTET / TET / GSET / State TET (Paper I or II, year)
- NET / SET for college-level posts
5. Skills for a teacher resume
| Teaching skills | Tools & technology | People skills |
|---|---|---|
| Lesson planning Classroom management Activity-based learning Assessment & evaluation Remedial teaching | Smart board Google Classroom / Meet MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint School ERP (attendance, marks) | Communication Parent counselling Patience Teamwork with staff Hindi, English, Gujarati |
Pick 8–12 skills that match the job advert, and use the same words the school uses.
Common mistakes in teacher resumes
- No subject or class level in the heading – the principal has to guess.
- Only duties, no results. "Taught maths" says little; "Raised the board average to 81%" stands out.
- Missing CTET / TET details – many schools check this first.
- Two or three pages for less than 10 years of experience. Keep it to one page.
- Photo, father's name, religion – not needed unless the school asks for them.
Tip: Applying to a CBSE school and a state-board school? Make two versions – change the syllabus words, the classes and the summary for each.
